The Ayrshire Community Trust
On January 1st 2011 Volunteer Centre North Ayrshire became The Ayrshire Community Trust and is now operating under that name. There will be a transfer period of three months where both names will be
used as we give clients, customers, staff and partners time to adjust to the new name.
The Ayrshire Community Trust now have a desk in St. Columba's, manned Tuesday afternoon 2.00pm to 4.00pm and Wednesday mornings 10.00am to noon. Anyone with an hour or two to spare for voluntary work can make enquiries there of the representative.
Are your children now back at school, or flown the nest?Have you reached retirement age, or taken early retirement, or been made redundant?
For whatever reason, do you have time on your hands, a few hours a week or days on end?
If your answer is “yes” and you are wondering what you can do - think about volunteering. For what? - Well consider - befriending; career speaking; helpline support; activity leader; helper/youth leader; after school assistant. If none of these appeals, how about - transport escort; driver, or fund raiser. If you have IT skills consider- web designer; computer tutor; database designer. More interested in retail or office work? How about, office assistant; charity shop assistant or tea bar volunteer. Or are you more the outdoor or sporty type? These could be for you - football coach; physical activity coach; event volunteer, or walk leader. Does your interest lie in first aid or health? There is the Butterfly Trust (supporting those affected by cystic fibrosis), or the British Red Cross, to mention a few, who are always glad of help.Still nothing of interest? Let’s add - broadcast journalist or audio engineer; producer; researcher or studio worker at one of a number of local radio stations. There is also puppy walking; music, drama and arts helpers. The list is almost endless. So - something, anything caught your eye? (If not there are many more volunteer opportunities!)
Final question - “What to do next?” Answer - call into the volunteer Centre located in the Church.find out full details of all the volunteer opportunities available. Or visit our web site The Ayrshire Community Trust .
Or telephone for more information 01294 475618
Put your free time to good use, you could be giving yourself and one of these deserving organisations a great boost.
